An iconic little restaurant near 12th and Harney served up its last meal over the weekend.

Many families have been going to The Diner in the Old Market for years and on Sunday, they said goodbye to their beloved breakfast spot after it was open for 35 years.

"Everybody is sad because this is an icon for Omaha. This isn't just our place for business. It's become a little landmark for the Old Market," co-owner Ken Schroeder said. "Yeah, we're going to have the food, we're going to have the people, the atmosphere but the building wont be the same. It won't be the actual diner."

The Diner hasn't stopped serving food, they will take over the menu at Billy Frogg's down the street, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night pub food.

In February, it was announced The Diner announced it would close to make room for a new downtown hotel.
