OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — For non-profits and businesses looking to do good in the community, grants are now available, with more than a thousand dedicated to COVI-19 financial needs.
GrantWatch has grants from 59 different industries, everything from arts and education to mental health and even disaster relief.
"A person can apply to as many grants at one time as they want, as long as they are not from the same source fund," said Libby Hikind, Founder, GrantWatch. "Currently the website has 5,800 grants available."
When it comes to applying for a grant, following instructions is key; some grants are denied due to simple errors.
"Your passion for the grant you are applying for should jump off the pages," said Hikind. "If you are hiring a grant writer, you should give them that passion."
Another tip, the needs of the community should match with your organizational goals and objectives.
The wait time for grant approval depends on the organization providing the grant.
If you have never written a grant, you might want to consider a grant writer. The website can also match you with an experienced grant writer for the specified field.
