Two sisters' long journey to find each other ended Friday night in Omaha where they were reunited after more than 50 years.
Susan Rupp and Jenitia Skogsberg have been waiting for this moment for more than 50 years.
Jenitia was raised by her mother and stepfather, Susan's birth parents.
She always knew that social services had taken Susan from the home before she, Jenitia, was born.
Susan was born Shawnee.
Jenitia remembers her mother talking about the children she was unable to raise.
Susan learned she was adopted around 5 or 6.
When she became an adult, her adoptive mother wanted her files opened so she could know her medical history.
Jenitia was also looking.
Then, unbeknowst to Susan, her daughter also started searching.
The TLC show long lost family gave them ideas on how to do research.
The west Nebraska family research & history center in Scottsbluff was their big break.
On their first visit, they discovered the name of Susan's sister.
A quick Facebook search found Jenitia and they messaged her right away.
