UPS looks to hire 50,000 people Friday

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Gone are the days of applying for a job and waiting weeks to hear back to see if you even got the interview.

With UPS, once you apply, you can have an on the spot virtual interview. Tomorrow alone, they are looking to hire 50,000 employees nationwide.

Seasonal employees at united parcel service last until February.

COVID-19 has made delivery services more important than ever and UPS needs part-time as well as full-time employees.

Nearly a third of their permanent staffers started as seasonal employees -- and with the holiday season approaching, a few new types of jobs have been created, like a delivery assistant.

These seasonal jobs pay anywhere from $14 an hour to $30 an hour.

UPS will have virtual and in-person interviews.

Those who apply online can have an interview scheduled right away and have a job offer by Monday.

Here in Omaha, UPS is looking to hire 600 employees.

37 percent of seasonal employees stay on as full-time employees.
