An Omaha couple is hearing wedding bells after their engagement on Sunday. And as Kevin Boughton explains, they have a billion dollar story to tell.
Blushing bride-to-be Rachel Gogan still can't believe her eyes. "It's better than what i dreamed of." After dropping hints to her boyfriend of two years, he finally popped the question Sunday. "Not until the box opened and i saw that it was a ... I thought we won a prize, I didnt know what was in it."
But the man of Rachels dreams needed the man of his dreams to help make it happen. Michael Dentlinger, who works at a Berkshire Hathaway company, asked Warren Buffett to help him pop the question. "I asked if he was doing that this year.. and if he was i was gonna see if he could sell me the ring." And so Sunday afternoon, Michael brought Rachel to a shareholders event at Borsheims. "He told me he had to VIP tickets that he won" In walks the Oracle of Omaha: now playing matchmaker:
"You two going together? How long? Two years." Buffett produces the ring. "I think that (inaudible) I do too if you'd marry me." And helps Michael seal the deal. "The answer is yes. " The whole thing took less than 2 minutes. "I had a whole speech planned out, get up there and forget it all." The two say they'll be forever grateful to Buffett for helping them. He even asked them to let him know when the wedding is. "You gonna have Warren help you go dress shopping? I don't know maybe I should."
