Walker was among the thirteen officers who received the Medal of Valor at the While House.
In June of 2013, Walker stopped Jorge Rubio, who had gone on a rampage and fired through a neighborhood at random.
During that day, Rubio shot four people, killing two.
After exchanging gunfire, Walker had incapacitated a man who had killed and injured multiple victims on a shooting spree.
Fast forward to Monday, President Obama said its officers like Walker who exhibit courage and quick thinking is what gives America their safety.
In addition to recognizing police officers, the medal of valor also honors firefighters and other first responders.
