In the first game for coach Scott Frost and quarterback Adrian Martinez, the Huskers kick off their season at 7 p.m. Saturday night against Akron.
In addition to the Memorial Stadium upgrades, which include an updated tunnel walk, new lights and a Husker app, here are some things you should know before you head down to Lincoln.
Parking
A majority of the lots on UNL's city campus are reserved for paid parking on game days and most are priced at around $25. For games that start after 6 p.m., the lots open at 11 a.m. For games that start before 6 p.m., the lots open at 6 a.m.
Additionally, fan drop-offs are not allowed near the stadium. The recommended drop-off area is on 12th and R Streets. For Ubers and Lyfts, the drop-off location is 14th and Vine Streets.
Gates
Tickets are scanned at all gates and re-entry is not allowed in the fourth quarter. Gates 1, 6, 8, 18, 19 and 21 will close shortly after kickoff. Fans are encouraged to begin entering the stadium 90 minutes before kick off.
Offices and shops
The ticket office opens four hours before games and mobile tickets are accepted. The Husker shop will open three to five hours before kickoff, depending on start time.
Clear Bag Policy
Memorial Stadium has a clear bag policy, meaning purses, tote bags and backpacks are not allowed inside. Additionally, camera and binocular cases, umbrellas and fanny packs are not allowed.
Unity Walk
The Unity Walk will be at Gate 20 on the east side of the stadium. The team will arrive around 4:55 Saturday and continue to arrive about two hours before the game for the rest of the season.
Husker Nation Pavilion
The pavilion on the Ed Weir Track opens five hours prior to kick for the first game and three hours before kick for every other home game this season. The area gives kids of all ages a chance to participate in quarterback toss, an obstacle course, face painting and more.
