NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — U.S. Marshals Violent Felony Task Force and the Niagara Falls Police Department arrested 35-year-old Yong Lu at the Rainbow Bridge Welcome Center on Saturday. Lu, who is accused of cutting off his pregnant wife's arm in New York City, was found with a life vest around 7:45 p.m. Investigators believe he was planning to swim to Canada.

Officials said Lu is believed to have cut off his pregnant wife's arm with a meat clever. He then attempted to solicit a bus driver to allow him to hide in a luggage compartment and cross him into Canada.

The bus driver refused.

U.S. Marshals said the arrest took place without incident, and that Lu will be returned to New York City either Saturday night, or early Sunday Morning.
