WASHINGTON (KMTV) - Iowa Rep. Cindy Axne is self-quarantining after a staffer tested positive for coronavirus.

A member of Axne's team that staffed her 16 county district tour last week began experiencing coronavirus symptoms over the weekend. The staffer tested positive on Wednesday.

Her office said the recent tour was conducted with "strict" COVID-19 protocols in place, including masks and social distancing.

Axne isn’t experiencing any symptoms but will be tested for coronavirus soon.

Axne, who was re-elected this past November, is carrying out her work with the House of Representatives remotely this week.

Axne received her first dose of coronavirus vaccine in early January.
