Power outages reported amid windy conditions

Eppley Airfield recorded a wind gust of 55 mph early Friday morning.  The windy conditions are expected to stick around until midday.

A Wind Advisory is in effect until noon for the KMTV viewing area.

Wind Advisory Counties: Monona, Harrison, Shelby, Pottawattamie, Mills, Montgomery, Fremont, Page, Washington, Douglas, Sarpy, Cass, Otoe, Johnson, Nemaha, Pawnee, Richardson

Winds: West winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts 40 to 50 mph will continue much of the morning.

Impacts: The stong winds will create potentially hazardous driving conditions, especially high profile vehicles traveling along north to south roads.

The Omaha Public Power District says crews have been working overnight to repair power outages caused by the windy weather.  In an 8:15 a.m. update, OPPD said about 427 customers were without power.

 The Norfolk Airport recorded a wind gust at 61 mph around 4:12 a.m., according to the National Weather Service Omaha Office.
