As the latest band of snow prepares to hit the metro area, here's what you need to know.

Snow emergency declared in many areas - Several cities, including Omaha and Council Bluffs, have declared a snow emergency that goes into effect Monday afternoon. In Omaha, that means odd-even parking restrictions are in place as well as bans on parking on emergency snow routes.

Dozens of activity cancellation - All Omaha Public School activities have been called off for Monday. Omaha community centers will also be closed. You can see all of the cancellations here.

Roads could be a mess today - The City of Omaha says more than 200 plows have been put in strategic positions, ready to get to work once the snow builds up on area roadways.
