Iowa football hangs on to beat Mississippi State in Outback Bowl

TAMPA, Fla. (KMTV) — The Iowa football team held on to beat 18th-ranked Mississippi State in the Outback Bowl on Tuesday in Tampa. The Hawkeyes finished the season 9-4. Kirk Ferentz's club rushed for -15 yards but its defense converted three Bulldog turnovers into 17 points.

Iowa junior quarterback Nate Stanley threw for 214 yards and three touchdowns.
