Coastal Carolina opened its first College World Series campaign with a massive 2-1 upset of top-seeded Florida.

The first run of the game came with some controversy and history. For the first time in the College World Series, umpires went to video replay and overturned a call to make what was originally ruled a Zach Remillard foul ball an RBI double.

The Gators bounced back with an RBI single from pinch-hitter Jeremy Vasquez. And the Gator fans rejoiced.

Coastal Carolina right-handed pitcher Andrew Beckwith and Florida righty Logan Shore both had solid outings, but Beckwith was able to go the distance.
