Texas Christian University bested Texas Tech 5-3 in a contest of in-state rivals at the College World Series.

Players for the Red Raiders and Horned Frogs took a moment this week to wish the fathers in the crowd a happy Father's Day.

Both teams opted to start freshmen pitchers with TCU leaning on Jared Janczak and Texas Tech opting for lefty Steven Gingery while fans outside the stadium enjoyed tailgating

Both pitchers kept the opposition at bay in the early going before Texas Tech scratched home a run in the bottom of the third inning. The play at the plate was pretty close.

The Horned Frogs, however, came back in the fourth with a run and took a 2-1 lead in the fifth on this home run by Cam Warner.

Though the Red Raiders retook the lead and had a 3-2 advantage in the ninth, TCU designated hitter Luken Baker came up with runners on first and second. Then this happened.

Baker's 3-run shot, the second homer of the tournament, gave TCU the win in the in-state rivalry. Meanwhile, Oklahoma State — a Saturday winner — enjoyed a team cookout.
