Creighton baseball took down Nebraska 3-1 in the the first of three in-state rivalry matchups between the two.
The Jays improved to 13-6 on the season with tonight's win, while the Huskers fell to 13-12 with the loss.
Will Robertson knocked in the first run of the game for Creighton in the bottom of the first with an RBI double.
After six scoreless innings, the Jays added two more insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth when Thomas Luevano had a 2-RBI single.
Nebraska came back with a run of its own in the top of the first when Luke Roskam knocked in a run with an RBI single to center field, but it was too little too late.
Up next for Creighton is a weekend series with Evansville that starts Friday, March 30th at 6:30 p.m. in T.D. Ameritrade Park.
The Huskers open up Big Ten play this weekend against Ohio State with a weekend series that starts Friday at 5:30 p.m. in Columbus, Ohio.
