Creighton takes down Georgetown 7-5

The Creighton baseball team opened its weekend series against Georgetown with a win. 

The Bluejays continue their winning streak with a 7-5 road win over the Hoyas. 

Creighton's Jason Allbery delivered three RBI singles Thursday to help the Bluejays capture a 7-5 win. Allbery's two-out RBI brought home Riley Landuyt in the top of the second inning to give the Jays a 1-0 lead. In the fourth inning Allbery hit another two-out RBI to take a 2-0 lead. 

Georgetown managed to score one run in the fifth inning to get within one of the Jays. Creighton answered with three runs in the top of the sixth to take a 5-1 lead. The Hoyas fought right back with two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Creighton led 5-3 heading into the eighth inning the Bluejays continued to hold the lead scoring one run in the eighth and ninth inning. 

Rollie Lacy collected the win allowing Georgetown four runs on five hits in seven innings. Reliever Ethan DeCaster earned his second save of the season, allowing one run on two hits in two innings. 

Creighton (12-16) will face Georgetown Friday, April 14th at 3 p.m.
