Posted

Creighton baseball is truly on a roll, as the Bluejays have now won nine games in a row, picking up an 11-2 victory over Villanova at TD Ameritrade Park Saturday night.

CU used a six-run 7th inning to move past the Wildcats.  And with the win Saturday night, Creighton is guaranteed its third straight series win to start Big East play.

Tied at 2 heading into the bottom of the 7th, Jason Allbery gave Creighton the lead with an RBI single up the middle that scored Bryce Only.  Then, in an inning that featured three straight Bluejay batters being hit by a pitch, CU added five runs for an 8-2 lead.

Creighton added three more insurance runs in the 8th for the 11-2 victory. Creighton now improves 17-16 overall this season and 7-1 in the Big East.  The two teams meet for the series finale tomorrow afternoon at 12 p.m. at TD Ameritrade Park.
