Creighton volleyball earns highest ranking in AVCA coaches poll in program history

The Creighton volleyball team's road win over No. 3 Washington helped the Bluejays jump two spots in the AVCA Coaches poll. 

The Bluejays are now ranked No. 7 which marks the highest ranking in the AVCA Coaches poll in program history. The programs previous highest was ninth which had been reached twice. 

Creighton (3-0) hosts the Bluejay Invitational presented by First National Bank Sept. 1-2. Creighton welcomes three other teams who are all 3-0, No. 13 Kentucky, No. 18 USC and Northern Iowa.

 

"It's going to be the best volleyball in the country," said Creighton coach Kirsten Bernthal Booth. "Even if you're not a Creighton fan, you should make your way to Omaha and hopefully you'll morph into a Creighton fan. Every match will be awesome and our facility should be rocking. It'll be a blast."

Creighton's home opener is Friday, Sept. 1 against Kentucky at 7 p.m.
