The Huskers baseball team had another player drafted in the MLB draft on Saturday. Max Knutson, a left-handed pitcher for Nebraska was selected in the 12th round by the Baltimore Orioles.
Knutson finished the 2016 season with a 3-1 record and a 4.38 ERA. He pitched in 37 innings striking out 34 batters. He was a two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection in 2015 and 2016. Knutson played a key role in helping out the Huskers pitching staff, making five starts and multiple relief appearances.
The left-hander is only a junior, and will have the choice to leave for the MLB or return for his senior season with the Huskers.
