Nebraska Drops Game Two of Weekend Series to No. 24 Maryland

Nebraska baseball was unable to overcome three errors Saturday afternoon at Haymarket Park, falling in game number two of the weekend series against No. 24 Maryland, 8-5. The Terrapins handed the Huskers their first loss in Big Ten play.

Nebraska's third and final error came in the top of the seventh, when a two-out error extended the inning in a tied game at 4-4.  Then Maryland was able to score the go-ahead run and added on three more insurance runs in the top of the ninth to pick up the victory.

Nebraska notched nine hits on the afternoon. Ben Miller was the only Husker with a multi-hit performance, going a season-best 4-for-4 with three singles and a double.

With the loss, Nebraska falls to 18-11-1 overall and 3-1-1 in the Big Ten. The two teams are back at it for the series finale Sunday afternoon at Hawks Field at 12:05 p.m.
