SEACAUCUS, N.J. (KMTV) Nebraska senior Scott Schreiber was selected in the 9th round of the MLB Draft on Tuesday by the Houston Astros.

Schreiber hit .369 this season with 18 HR & 48 RBI. He is a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award. He is the first Husker to be taken in this year's draft going 282nd overall.

Schreiber went in the 26th round last year but chose to come back to NU for his senior season. His pick value is $144,100. His former Husker teammate, Jake Meyers, was taken in the 13th round by Houston in last year's draft.
