13 Huskers awarded Blackshirts

The Huskers handed out Blackshirts before Tuesday's workout.

The coveted practice jerseys went to 13 defensive players.

Five of them were awarded to linebackers Josh Banderas, Marcus Newby, Dedrick Young and Michael Rose-Ivey. On the defensive line, Blackshirts were handed out to Ross Dzuris, Mick Stoltenberg, Kevin Maurice and Freedom Akinmoladun.

In the secondary, Nate Gerry, Aaron Williams, Joshua Kalu and Chris Jones were all awarded with Blackshirts.

Nebraska returns to the practice field Wednesday and will take on Fresno State in the season opener Saturday at Memorial Stadium starting at 7 PM.
