This past weekend at the state track and field meet at Burke Stadium, Beatrice's Cam Jurgens capped off his high school career by winning more gold medals.
First in the Class B shot put on Friday morning, Jurgens claimed his third straight state title. Then, Jurgens did one better on Saturday in the discus, taking home his fourth state title in a row.
Now, the top-ranked recruit from the state of Nebraska in 2018, Jurgens gets ready to head to Lincoln to start summer workouts with the Huskers. The future NU tight end plans to arrive on campus Tuesday.
"We need to get up there and put a lot of work in this summer and get a mentality of we're going to work hard there and get back to where Nebraska should be," Jurgens said.
