According to a report by ESPN, former Nebraska defensive lineman and Dallas Cowboys third-round draft pick Maliek Collins will miss the next 10 to 12 weeks after having surgery to repair a broken right foot.

Collins suffered the injury in last week’s organized team activities and is hopeful to return by the end of training camp or the beginning of the season. In order to stabilize the joint, Collins had a screw inserted into the broken foot, as well as a bone graft.

With former Husker teammate Randy Gregory facing a four game suspension and defensive end Demarcus Lawrence facing a similar penalty, the Cowboys were hoping Collins could help add depth to an already thin defensive line.
