Frost wants to see Huskers force more turnovers

Posted

LINCOLN, Neb. (KMTV) It's fair to say the Blackshirts had their share of black eyes last season as a unit. The Huskers had the worst total defense in the Big Ten and forced the fewest turnovers, creating just 12.

Scott Frost wants to see that number dramatically increase in his first year.

"Turnovers is the biggest stat in football and Nebraska wasn't very good at it last year," Frost said. "When you create turnovers and get our offense the ball back, hopefully, we can do something with it. So we put a real emphasis on making sure we're active, we know where the ball is, we're ball-aware and ball-disruptive. We had more plays on the ball and interceptions in the first practice this fall than five practices put together in the spring."

The Huskers host Akron September 1st to open the Scott Frost era.
