The final scrimmage of fall camp for the Huskers is in the books. Nebraska held an open practice in front of UNL students for 90 minutes on Saturday night. After practice, Riley revealed who the captains would be for the 2016 season.
On the offensive side, the team captains are seniors Jordan Westerkamp and Dylan Utter. And for the defense, Jordan Banderas and Nate Gerry will represent the Blackshirts.
Riley also announced that there will be a Sam Foltz captain of the week, as requested by the seniors on the team.
"I loved this night, this was good, it was good football," Riley said.
The Huskers kick off the 2016 season next Saturday night when they host Fresno State at 7 p.m. inside Memorial Stadium.
