The Huskers took on the Oregon Ducks this afternoon in front of another sold out crowd marking the 350th consecutive sell out at Memorial Stadium. Today was the most highly anticipated game of the year for the Huskers, especially with Head Coach Mike Riley's ties to Ducks from the 10 years he coached for Oregon State. The last time the Huskers and Ducks went head-to-head was 1986.
Both teams came into today's game 2-0, the Huskers coming off a 52-17 win over Wyoming. The Oregon Ducks defeated Virginia on Saturday. The Huskers cut the Ducks lead to 20-14 right before half. Nebraska scored again early in the third quarter to take a 21-20 lead. Near the end of the the fourth quarter the Huskers landed another big touchdown to take the lead to 35-32 and capture the win.
Here's what Coach Riley had to say following the 35-32 victory.
