Nebraska football spring practice rundown: April 6

and last updated

Nebraska football got back on the field Thursday, and offensive coordinator Danny Langsdorf spoke to the media afterwards. Langsdorf said although today was just another "Thursday practice" and not a scrimmage, the competition at each position is evaluated daily.

"The constant competition and evaluation is really important for us," Langsdorf said. "It's not just an evaluation on Saturday for the scrimmage. It's going to be a big evaluation today on a lot of situational work. These are important days."

Both quarterbacks Tanner Lee and Patrick O'Brien said they feel like the quarterback competition is still neck-and-neck at this point, so the remainder of spring practice all the way through the spring game will be very telling. Lee said going against the 3-4 defense in practice has been challenging because it is not like the schemes most other teams use.

Competition on the offensive line is heating up, but offensive line coach Mike Cavanaugh said Cole Conrad has been taking reps at both center and both tackle spots.

On the injury front, wide receivers coach Keith Williams said Brandon Reimers will be out for the rest of spring practice with a knee injury.
