It's a big win for Big Red! The Nebraska Cornhuskers are coming off their big 35-32 victory over Oregon on Saturday.
Head coach Mike Riley just wrapped up his weekly news conference in Lincoln. Reporter Shawnte Passmore has the latest.
The Huskers are back in the top 20 for the first time in two years. The win over the PAC-12 team moves them to 3-0. Late in the fourth, it was Tommy Armstrong's 34 yard run that put the Huskers over the top for the win. While coach Riley says "yeah the win feels good" bigger goals lie ahead. "Right now, it was a great win, at that point in the year. It was obviously our biggest non-league game. But we can now only use it. Everything is ahead of us. So, we kind of got to use the game as a tool, and go on to the next one, and prepare, like we did" Riley said.
Also honored this week is Huskers punter Caleb Lightbourn who was named Big Ten freshman of the week. He averaged 47 yards per punt in the game against Oregon.
Nebraska travels to Northwestern this Saturday for a 6:30 p.m. kick off in Evanston. Stay with KMTV both on line and on air with the Omaha Sports Insider for the very latest.
