In 2013, Jack Hoffman inspired Husker Nation and the country. Hoffman is a brain cancer survivor. Coach Bo Pelini put him in a Husker spring game, and the team let the then-7-year-old score a 69 yard touchdown run. Jack even won an ESPY for his touchdown run.

His family used that attention to create the Team Jack Foundation. According to its web site, Team Jack works with families impacted by pediatric brain tumors and other childhood cancers. "Team Jack’s objective is to fund research at the top research centers in the world -- fast."

The Team Jack Foundation says it has raised $3 million in the last three years.
