Tom Osborne joined Mike'l Severe on stage at the Omaha World-Herald Big Red Breakfast this morning. The Nebraska football legend shared some candid thoughts regarding the hiring of Bo Pelini.
"I took a chance on Bo Pelini," Osborne said. "Bo won a lot of games, but I didn't probably know enough about his character. There were a lot of good things about him, but he didn't relate well to the press, and in many cases did not relate well to the fans. Those were the things that were not as good, and as a result I think that didn't work out as well as I had hoped."
Osborne hired Pelini before the 2008 season. Pelini was later fired following the 2014 season.
