LINCOLN, Neb. (KMTV) Maurice Washington arrived in Nebraska less than a week ago but is already impressing early on in fall camp for the Huskers.

Following Wednesday's practice, NU players and coaches raved about the true freshman's talent.

"He's just fast man," said fellow true freshman Adrian Martinez. "He can do a little bit of it all. He's a damn good player. Husker Nation's really going to love him."

Washington had to clear a few academic hurdles before arriving in Lincoln the day before fall camp began for the Big Red.

"He brings a lot to the table," said running backs coach Ryan Held. "I got to get him caught up because he wasn't here in spring ball and in the summer. The thing about it is he's a freshman so we've got to be smart about keeping him grounded. Let's just keep working him to where he'll help. But right now what I see, there's no doubt there's some real good talent there and he could be a real good player for us."

Nebraska head coach Scott Frost will speak with reporters following Friday's practice.
