Two Huskers Drafted In The Third Round

Posted

Two Husker defensive linemen were selected in the third round of the NFL Draft.  For the second straight year the Dallas Cowboys took a Nebraska product.  They grabbed Maliek Collins with the fourth selection of the third round.  Collins was a two-time second-team All-Big 10 performer.  He racked up eight sacks and 23 tackles for loss in his Husker career.

Vincent Valentine was taken by the Patriots with the 96th overall pick in the draft.  Valentine put together seven sacks and 16 tackles for loss in his Nebraska career.  Valentine battled injuries early in the 2015 season that kept him from stacking up bigger numbers.
