The Minnesota Vikings have announced that they have signed former Nebraska quarterback Tommy Armstrong.

The Vikings have signed Armstrong on as a safety. Minnesota waived wide receiver Mitch Mathews to make room for Armstrong on their roster.
During Armstrong's senior season with the Huskers, he started 11 of 13 games, completed 151 of 294 passes for 2,180 yards, 14 touchdowns and eight interceptions, while rushing for 604 yards and eight touchdowns.
