Nebraska head coach Mike Riley spoke to the media Thursday after practice and updated the status of one of the Blackshirts premier defenders.

According to Riley, Chris Jones, who was expected to miss 4-6 months with a knee injury suffered just before the start of the season, has been cleared to play against Wisconsin.

Riley said that while Jones will not play full time this weekend, he will work into the rotation. Huskers safety Joshua Kalu and linebacker Marcus Newby will both play Saturday as well.

As far as the running back situation, Riley said that Mikale Wilbon has not practiced all week.

"Mikale Wilbon is much better. Did not practice today. We'll see what he's like tomorrow and see if he can be in the mix as maybe as a rotation or at least an emergency guy on Saturday night," Riley said.

Riley also noted that Brenden Jaimes will start at right tackle, and Michael Decker will start at center.
