The Nebraska men's basketball team will try to extend its winning streak to six in a row Tuesday night at home against Maryland.
The Huskers are squarely on the bubble for making the NCAA Tournament. As of Monday night, NU is listed as one of the 'first four teams out' in ESPN's Bracketology. So with a 19-8 overall record and 10-4 mark in the Big Ten, the Big Red knows there is little to no room for error.
"It's a very important ball game," said head coach Tim Miles. "I don't believe in must win games. But we know this time of year when you're on the bubble it's either you have to win or you can't afford to lose."
"I think we've looked at every game this year as an underdog," senior guard Anton Gill said. "We know the talent we've had but we haven't necessarily gotten that respect yet. We're approaching every game basically like it's a tournament game, like it's a must win. If you want to get to where you want to get to, you've got to win it."
A victory over the Terrapins would give Nebraska its first 20 win season since the 2007-2008 season. A win would also give the Huskers six straight conference wins for the first time in 20 years.
Tipoff from Pinnacle Bank Arena is set for 6 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will be televised on BTN.
