The defending Big Ten and National Champion Nebraska volleyball team has been selected as the preseason conference favorites as voted on by conference coaches.
Two Huskers were also selected for the 2018 Preseason All-Big Ten Volleyball team in Mikaela Foecke and Kenzie Maloney.
The senior co-captains say they're starting to realize this will be their final season playing for the Big Red.
"Well it is hard to believe it is my senior year, it feels like we just got here," Foecke said. "I think the biggest thing is coming out and leaving it all out on the line. We've come every year to the final four and making sure that we can max-out this team as senior captains is probably one of our biggest goals."
Maloney believes she and Foecke need to also set an example for the young Huskers squad in 2018.
"[We need to] max-out every phase and making sure that every player is acclimated so that when we leave they'll know what to do," Maloney said.
Nebraska will begin the 2018 season ranked No. 2 in the AVCA poll.
