They say keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.  The battle for Nebraska state volleyball supremacy goes down Saturday night, when the Huskers host the Bluejays insde the Bob Devaney Center at 8 p.m.

The two in-state rivals will both have two matches Friday as part of the Ameritas Players Challenge, but come Saturday all volleyball eyes in the state will be focused on this big-time matchup.

"I love when we get to play Nebraska because we have so many local kids on the court," said Creighton head coach, Kirsten Bernthal-Booth. "A lot of them know each other and I say this every year, but I think it's a celebration of how great volleyball is in this state."

Nebraska won last year's match in three straight sets, 3-0 over Creighton in a match played in Omaha in the CenturyLink Center.  Nebraska head coach John Cook is looking for the same kind of intensity in this year's installment.

"[Nebraska] had a good match up there last year so it will be another tough match," Cook said. "It's a big match for them and it's equally as big a match for us."

The match will follow the Nebraska-Oregon football game and tips at 8 p.m.
