Nebraska's Amy Williams was named the Big Ten Coach of the Year on Monday. The former Husker walk-on was a unanimous selection by the media & coaches.
Williams led the Huskers to a 20-9 regular season record and 11-5 in conference play in just her 2nd season in Lincoln.
That was a 13 win improvement from the 7-22 record Williams posted in year one at NU.
Also on Monday, Nebraska's Kate Cain was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman team as well as the league's All-Defensive team. Sophomore Hannah Whitish was named a 2nd team all-league pick.
Nebraska opens Big Ten Tournament play on Friday.
