Mavericks' Alihodzic and Ghitis Earn Summit League Honors

University of Nebraska Omaha's Fazlo Alihodzic and Joseph Ghitis earned Summit League weekly honors following their performances against Eastern Illinois. 

Fazlo Alihodzic earned his third career and second of the season Offensive player of the Week honor. Alihodzic scored the game winning goal in Omaha's 2-0 win over Eastern Illinois. He has a total of six goals this season and two game winning goals this year. Alihodzic is now tired for first in the league point standings with 16 and he's tied for second in goals.

Joseph Ghitis earned his fourth career and second of the year Defensive Player of the Week honor. Ghitis recorded a shutout victory over Eastern Illinois. He had a perfect save percentages and goals against average including four saves. The 2-0 win over Eastern Illinois marked Ghitis eighth career shutout.

The Mavericks (5-4-3) return to play on Saturday, Oct. 15 for their first league road trip against Fort Wayne.
