The American Legion senior state tournament in Class A got underway on Saturday. And at Frerichs Legion Field in Elkhorn, Omaha Westside (KB Building Services) shut out Lincoln Pius X (Union Bank), winning 2-0.
The evening belonged to Westside's starting pitcher, Joe Stegman. The right-hander threw a complete game shutout to propel Westside to the win.
Westside now advances to face Millard West (Roof Tech) on Sunday night at 7 p.m.
