The Creighton University men's basketball team fell to No. 1 Villanova Thursday night. The Wildcats 98-78 win over the Bluejays marks the first time in program history they held a 21-1 record.
Villanova's exceptional offense carried them to a win, the Wildcats were 48.7 percent from the arc making 19-39 three-pointers. Villanova's 19 three-pointers match the programs most three-pointers made in a game Mikal Bridges led four Wildcats in the double-figures with 21 points.
Creighton's Marcus Foster led the Bluejays with 20 points while Khyri Thomas followed with 12. The Bluejays shot 33.3 percent from the arc and 49 percent from the field.
Creighton (17-6, 7-4 BIG EAST) face DePaul (9-12, 2-7 BIG EAST) on the road Wednesday, Feb 7th; tip off is scheduled for 8 p.m.
