OSI Prep Pigskin Preview: Omaha Roncalli

Posted

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) The Omaha Roncalli football team has made the state playoffs the past three seasons. But the Crimson Pride fell in the first round each of those appearances. Now, this year's squad wants to take it even further in 2018.

"For us seniors, we've been to the playoffs all three years so far and we've lost in the first round every time so we're trying, kind of want to get to the next level," said running back/quarterback Alex Rodgers.

Roncalli went 5-5 last year and returns nine starters on defense and seven on offense.

"Our goal is to make it to the 2nd round of state playoffs," said Roncalli head coach Tom Kassing. "Since I've been here, that's our goal. We haven't been able to do that yet but with the landscape of Class B we really think we can do some damage."

The Crimson Pride open the season at Omaha Gross on August 24.
