OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) High school football practices started today across Nebraska and Iowa. Up first in our OSI Prep Pigskin Preview is Omaha Skutt.
The Skyhawks fell just one win short of the Class B state title last season. Matt Turman's team wants to finish the job in 2018.
"The last two years we've fallen one step short but I tell our kids all the time if we keep knocking on the door pretty soon it's going to open for us," Turman said.
"Not much more than hard work, dedication, dedication to team, the guys next to you, just putting in everything you need to do," said senior offensive lineman Sam Heffron. "Getting that gold medal at the end of the year, that's all I really care about and make sure we do it as a team."
Skutt went 10-3 last season and fell to York in the Class B Championship. The Skyhawks return 11 starters and face Bennington in the season-opener on August 24.
