The Creighton Prep Junior Jay soccer team took their first step towards a fifth state title game appearance in six years. Their 2-0 win over Bellevue East in the District Finals clinched them a spot in next week's state tournament.
Several other teams punched their tickets to state last night. Top ranked Omaha Westside defeated Papio South in overtime to earn a bid. The defending champions from Millard West also won their district. And, Omaha Central clinched a bid by defeating North Platte. This is Central's first trip to state since 1997.
