OMAHA (KMTV) — Here are the nominees for the 3 News Now Female Team of the Year:

PAPILLION-LA VISTA SOFTBALL: The Monarchs made history becoming the first Class A softball team to finish undefeated. Papio capped off its 36-0 record with a dominating 15-2 win in the title game. The victory gave the Monarchs their 15th state championship in program history. With just two seniors leaving, Papio is in prime position to repeat next season.

PAPILLION-LA VISTA SOUTH VOLLEYBALL: The Tians run to the Class A title featured a Cinderella run as they started the season 3-6 and still had a losing record in mid-October. But then first-year head coach Katie Wright's team turned it on, going 8-1 in its final nine matches, capped off by a dramatic five set win in the championship. Papio South earned its 4th title in program history and first since 2012.

ALSO VOTE: Female Athlete of the Year

OMAHA SKUTT CATHOLIC VOLLEYBALL: The Skyhawks soared to their 5th straight Class B championship last November without dropping a set in the state tournament. Next season, Skutt will go for a 6th straight title, which would tie the Nebraska high school record.

OMAHA MARIAN SWIMMING: The Crusaders captured their first state championship in five years and 14th overall last February moving Marian into first place all-time.
