The U.S. Swim Trials continue to creep closer and closer. Preliminary rounds will begin on Sunday morning. Today, was a second media day where swimmers talked about the upcoming event. Two of the more well-known competitors took the podium this morning in Missy Franklin and Michael Phelps.
The two swimmers are both own multiple gold medals, but they are at very different points in their career. Franklin racked up four gold medals in the last Olympics. Those were her first ever medals, and she's just now entering her prime. Phelps is an 18-time gold medal winner, and today he talked about this event being his last time racing on U.S. soil. Even coming from different points in their career they both believe this is a special event with an atmosphere that can't be replicated.
