The Omaha Storm Chasers rolled in their home opener Tuesday night with a 9-1 win over Round Rock. Whit Merrifield went 3-5 with a home run and two runs scored. Merrifield now has a homer in three of Omaha's five contests this season. Ramon Torres also went yard with a solo shot to leadoff the Chasers in the bottom of the first.
Jorge Bonifacio drove in four runs while Omaha starter Jonathan Dziedzic went nearly six innings without giving up a run.
Omaha improves to 2-3 on the season. The Chasers host the Express again Wednesday night at Werner Park with first pitch set for 6:35 pm.
