OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The Sarpy County Habitat for Humanity is expecting a large donation from a nursing home in Lyons, Neb. that is going out of business due to a lack of qualified staff, according to the Interim Executive Director, for this branch, Clifton Jones.
For Habitat for Humanity donations are key. Leaders said every dollar and item they receive goes towards providing housing for people who otherwise couldn't afford it. So far in Sarpy County they have build 40 homes, and are currently working on two more. Leaders said the donations from the nursing home will help them continue to build for years to come.
"He is donating I believe a van, there's a riding mower, there's a number of computers and a wide array of different things that was used in that nursing home," said Jones. They expect the donations to arrive by the end of next week.
