With opening day just around the corner, it is time for many baseball fans in Omaha to start planning an evening at the ballpark.
The Omaha Storm Chasers open up their season April 7 at Werner Park. As the season kicks off, so do some of the best promotional nights in minor league baseball. From bobblehead giveaways to cheap beer nights, Werner Park has it all.
Here is a list of the top seven promotional nights at Werner Park this season:
7. Family FUNday:
This is the perfect opportunity to take the whole family to the ballpark for kid-friendly fun. Family FUNday takes place May 8 as the Storm Chasers take on the Iowa Cubs. There will be clowns, face painting, a petting zoo, balloon artists, and an opportunity for children 12 and under to run the bases after the game.
6. Werner Park Stadium Replica Giveaway:
Fans will want to show up early as the Storm Chasers take on the Oklahoma City Dodgers April 30. The first 1,500 fans through the gates will receive a replica of Werner Park in honor of the stadium’s fifth anniversary.
5. Mother’s Day Picnic
While the kids are taking advantage of the Family FUNday activities, the Storm Chasers have something just for mothers. From 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., mothers have access to free mini massages and manicures, as well as a full picnic that takes place in the Lincoln tent.
4. Five Dollar Days:
During all weekday day games, the Storm Chasers are offering a cheap deal at the concession stands. Fans can purchase nachos with cheese and a fountain Pepsi for just five dollars.
3. Thirsty Thursday:
This promotional night is a favorite among college students. On Thursday nights, fans that are 21 and over can purchase $2 Bud and Bud Light cans and drafts. The deal includes something for the kids as well with Dr. Peppers for just a dollar.
2. Friday Fireworks:
Friday Fireworks nights are a definite fan favorite. After each night game on Friday nights at Werner Park, fans can come out and enjoy a fireworks show.
1. Mike Moustakas Bobble-Antler Giveaway:
This giveaway is perfect for all of the Royals fans in Omaha. The first 1,500 fans through the door April 23 as the Storm Chasers take on the Colorado Springs Sky Sox will receive a Mike “Moose” Moustakas ‘Bobble-Antler’ in honor of the former Storm Chasers third baseman.
